This Boy’s In Love

Modular Records must be high-fiving themselves into next week. After Cut Copy upped their game by 800 per cent, Modular’s second Australian Number One album in a month came courtesy of this lot. It’s not hard to see why when all those silvery cinders of synth spark in the background while Julian Hamilton simultaneously channels every band who’ve sailed in Depeche Mode’s wake (including Erasure). All hail Oz’s second wave of new rave.

This is quite a beautiful song. Different from the dirty intensity of their earlier single 'my people' but no less intense, not least for those superb vocal hooks.Another dark burner of a tune from their Australian realease of their new album is the epic 'if I know you'....It will be interesting to see how Oz's second wave of new rave is going to go down this year, as you quite rightly mentioned Cut Copy upped their game by 800 per cent & in this instance it seems the presets are following suit.
