R Kelly : The Storm Is Over Now

R Kelly's still ploughing that bland, overblown furrow that brought him superstardom...

Oh say it ain't so! This is the sort of tosh Kelly makes to prove that the mainstream love him. And it's the mainstream we can blame because if they hadn't bought into the self-obsessed 'I Believe I Can Fly' and that awful duet he did with Celine Dion (both of which Radio 2 and Radio 3 listeners loved), R Kelly wouldn't sound so far away from the 'hood as he does here.


The best way to tolerate R when he gets in this big band, choral mood is to indulge him and ignore him. He'll be back with a sex anthem soon. You can betcha nipples on it.
