Ian Brown Feat Sinead O’Connor

Ian Brown

Ian Brown

Illegal Attacks

One of the most outspoken anti-establishment figures in warbly folk rock, plus a man who sings like an air-raid siren: surely the most potent pairing to lay bare the hypocrisies behind Bush’s battle-mad crusading, and they don’t mince their words. “So what the fuck is this UK/Gunning with this US of A in Iraq and Iran and in Afghanistan?” Brown deadpans over a dark ‘FEAR’-ish orchestral shuffle, “These are illegal attacks/So bring the soldiers back”. Noble, righteous and with a decent tune, the sad thing about ‘Illegal Attacks’ is the knowledge that it’ll make fuck all difference unless Fergie does a cover.

King Monkey is back! The new song is a great tune with lyrics that Michael Moore wished he wrote. Brown has gone for a FEAR style sound on this tune with Sister Sinead O Conner on backing vocal duty.I wonder will Bush have this on his iPod?
