Band forced to pull festival appearance

The Verve have been forced to cancel a festival appearance tonight (July 16) due to illness.

Frontman Richard Ashcroft has severe pharyngitis and a chest infection, meaning the band won't be able to play the Italia Wave Festival in Livorno.

According to Theverve.co.uk/, Ashcroft "has been advised by a doctor to rest and has been prescribed with antibiotics. The Verve wish to apologise to any fans who have bought tickets and hope to be playing again soon".
