Band jokingly call on fans to fund tourbus

The Futureheads took their DIY ethics to a new dimension last night in Nottingham last night (June 3), jokingly calling on their fans to help fun their travel.

Performing sweaty gig at the city's Rescue Rooms, including the likes of 'Meantime', [b]'Skip To The End', and 'Carnival Kids' in a sweaty, fast-paced set, the band explained they were hoping their merch sales would help get them home.

"Make sure you buy our T-shirts", guitarist Ross Millard joked with the crowd. "We need the petrol money!"

Speaking to NME.COM ahead of the show, the band insisted the stripped-down approach - the group self-released recent third album 'This If Not The World' after concluding their previous major deal - had revitalised the band both on an off the road.

"We're cutting through the bullshit," explained bassist Jaff. "We just want to stay relevant to the fans and never outstay our welcome."

The Futureheads played:

'Meantime'
'This Is Not the World'
'A To B'
'Think Tonight'
'Radio Heart'
'Remember'
'The Beginning Of The Twist'
'Hard to Bear'
'Hounds Of Love'
'Carnival Kids'
'See What You Want'

I watched the gig from near the back of the venue and they were amazing. As they say, its a total back to basics approach and they are all the better for it. And just a note to the fat bird standing with a bunch of turds near the back.... If you fancy spending over an hour talking total bullshit to your mates, please do it at home or in the pub and not when the Futureheads are playing an amazing set. Peace

They opened with Decent Days and Nights, and they closed with Piece of Crap. Whoever wrote the setlist out missed a few off.

An excellent gig - certainly enjoyed by all of us in the mosh pit! The bands performance certainly suited the ambience of the rescue rooms. Fantastic performance
