Usher: 'Noel Gallagher wrong about Jay-Z at Glastonbury' – Tabloid Hell

Usher

Usher

Now the R&B star has weighed into the debate

Usher is the latest person to wade into the debate about Jay-Z's forthcoming headline slot at the Glastonbury festival.

He has said that he is "shocked" that Oasis' Noel Gallagher has questioned Jay-Z's suitability as a Glastonbury headliner. Gallagher previously said that hip-hop had no place at the festival.

According to The Sun Usher said of the Oasis man's comment, "It really shocked me that he said that. Jay-Z is an incredible artist and headliner. I saw him perform at the Hollywood Bowl in LA, and you're not getting better than that."

Does anybody care what Usher has to say about anything?

Woa, Usher's opinion will surely convince Noel that he was wrong all along. If Usher says Jay-Z is great, he HAS to be great. Doesn't he?

Did anyone think to ask Mariah Carey what she thought?

"You're not getting better than that. " Go fuck yourself Usher! Jay-Z being an incredible artist and headliner is surely subjective. I wouldn't see Jay-Z or yourself if you were playing for free across the street from home.

When the pioneer of drippy, soul-less R&B speaks, we must listen.I'm sure R Kelly will stick his two bobs worth in soon, that will, for sure, create an engaging debate.

Jay-Z - great businessman but he isn't strong enough as an artist to headline Glastonbury. You might as well get P Diddy or whatever his name is today.

I dont know , glastonbury is just main stream, let hip hop have a place... And to Galagher, i think no one would make such a pretentious statment like that

Well I think it's not only Noel that needs to open his tiny little mind but a lot of the NME readers too, stop causing a fuss over something that isn't that big of an issue, so what if Mr Eavis decided not to put a run-of-the-mill indie band that will put on a mediocre performance and can be seen any night of the week. I may not rate Usher as an artist but he's only speaking out against people judging and being too blind to see past their own noses. If you don't want to watch Jay-Z at Glasto then don't, simple as.

What is so annoying about this whole fiasco is that Noel never commented, questioned, or trashed Jay Z's talent, just his suitability for the festival.

I don't like Usher's music either but doesn't mean that his opinion is worthless.I really hope Jay-Z puts on a great show to prove you narrow-minded assholes wrong.

I have a vision of Daphne and Celeste at Reading/Leeds 2000.

"I really hope Jay-Z puts on a great show to prove you narrow-minded assholes wrong." I think anyone would have a hard time enjoying glastonbury if they're narrow-minded, its not a place for narrow-mindedness.

Usher would say that, he's a hip hop artist and all that,so he's going to defend the music he's into.I agree with Noel, festivals have always been about the rock 'n' roll.

does any one remember the grammys with jayz adding "uh" "uh" "huh" in the background as paul mcartney sang? im sure it is on youtube or somewhere. it was awful and ruined the song. how he could think he was adding to the music was hard to fathom. when the beatle(s) play it is generally a good idea to shut up and let them do their thing. this alone should have cost him the right to ever grunt on British soil again. then again maybe macca wanted to cross promote to jaz's zillions of us fans...

I think rap has had it's fifteen minutes and should just burn.Just like disco did at the end of the 70's.What happened to black musicians with talent like James Brown,Curtis Mayfield,Jimi Hendrix? These fellows had something to say and they could sing proper.Hip-hop,rap is absolute rubbish that will ultimately end up on crappy compilations in the 99p bin. It's a good thing that the UK hasn't had the wool pulled over thier eyes like the states has.Jay z,Kanye,Snoop, and all the other over-rated twats can just piss-off.
