Billy Corgan and co celebrate two decades

Smashing Pumpkins have revealed the first details of the upcoming shows to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

The first anniversary gig is set to take place August 9 in Hammond, Indiana at the Horseshoe Casino. Tickets for the gig will go on sale Friday (July 11) at 10:00am PST via Ticketmaster.

An announcement on the band's website said, "For those of you in the Chicago area, realise this is closer to Chicago than the Pumpkins have been since their final show on December 2nd of 2000."

The band also revealed that their August dates will be at smaller venues, while the November anniversary shows will be at large venues.

They've confirmed that they'll be playing anniversary gigs in cities including Los Angeles, New York and Chicago, but have yet to reveal the dates and venues.

The band also announced that their tour to support the release of a box set of their 1991 debut album 'Gish' will be pushed back to early 2009.

Stay tuned to NME.COM for further details about both Smashing Pumpkins tours.
