Yes cancel 40th anniversary tour

Yes have cancelled their 40th anniversary tour of North America, which was scheduled to kick off in Quebec this July.

The extensive tour -- the band's first in 15 years -- has been put on hold indefinitely due to frontman Jon Anderson's health problems.

Anderson was admitted to the hospital last month after suffering a severe asthma attack and was diagnosed with respiratory failure. Doctors told him that he needs to rest and avoid work for least six months or suffer further health complications.

“In the wake of my recent respiratory attack, doctors have advised me to spend the coming months resting and recovering," Anderson said in a statement.

"Unfortunately, this means I won't be able to tour with Yes this summer as originally planned. I'd like everyone know how deeply disappointed I am by this turn of events. I was looking forward to celebrating our music with the amazing family of Yes fans once again; but as we all know, health must come before anything else.”

Tickets for the shows will be refunded at the points of purchase.
