Peter Hook to reform Monaco

Peter Hook is set to reform his band Monaco for a charity gig in Manchester.

The former New Order bassist is reviving his group with David Potts for an Oxfam show at the city’s Ritz on October 28.

The gig is taking place as part of the organisation’s Oxjam event, which sees gigs being staged across October for charity.

“I had a great time in Monaco and thought we’d written some top tunes, we’re basically having some fun for a very good cause,” said Hook of the reunion.

“There’s a lot I take for granted in this world and I’m delighted to help other people in any way I can. I admire and respect Pottsy as a musician and a friend so I’ll play with him any chance I get. I haven’t played the Ritz since [late New Order/Joy Division manager] Rob Gretton’s memorial and am very much looking forward to performing there again.”

Other acts playing the event include The Complete Stone Roses, Tom Hingley And The Lovers, Vinny Peculiar and The People's Revolutionary Choir, while The Specials' frontman Terry Hall will DJ.
