New Order to feature in Haçienda exhibiton

A host of rarities will also be displayed at the legendary club
New Order are set to feature in a special exhibition at the former legendary Haçienda nightclub.
The band, who recently split according to bassist Peter Hook, will be contributing a host of rare items to the Haçienda 25: The Exhibition Fac 491 display, which kicks off on July 17.
Along with contributions from founder Tony Wilson, Ben Kelly and the late Rob Gretton, a collection of unseen and iconic items from The Haçienda's history will also be put on display at the site of the former venue to mark the now-defunct club's 25th anniversary.
During the display, set up by the Manchester exhibition Urbris, the first ever showing of the complete collection of The Haçienda's iconic 'Birthday Posters' will be revealed, along with previously unaired video footage, including an early recording of the first Birthday party.
The footage complemented by contributions from Peter Saville, Hillegonda Rietveld, Jon Savage, Ang Matthews, Paul Cons, Leroy Richardson, Andy Spinoza, Bob Dickinson and Mikey Eastwood.
Visitors will also be able to walk through the original, world famous Fac 51 doors, as part of the major exhibition which explores the origins, life and legacy of the legendary club, which featured in the 2001 Michael Winterbottom movie '24 Hour Party People'.
The Haçienda opened in 1982, and survived until 1997 despite persistent financial problems.
The exhibition will continue until February 17, 2008.
