But she keeps hold of the single top spot

Techno outfit have scored an unlikely UK number one album, knocking Madonna's 'Hard Candy' from the top.

'Jumping All Over the World', the German techno crew's first album in six years, leaps straight to the top of countdown.

Despite the album shift, veteran remains on top of the single countdown for a fourth week with '4 Minutes', featuring Justin Timberlake. Just beneath her, Sam Sparrow's 'Black and Gold' and Wiley's 'Wearing my Rolex' are non-movers at two and three, followed by 'Heartbreaker' by Will.i.am, featuring Cheryl Cole, which rises four spaces.

Usher, who annoyed festival goers at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Maidstone, Kent yesterday by greeting them with the immortal "Hello Manchester!" sees his 'Love in this Club' fall one place to five.

The highest brand new entry on the top 10 comes from Coldplay hitting eight with 'Violet Hill' - the track that had been downloaded for free by two million people worldwide.

Back on the album chart, northern rock veterans Def Leppard enter at 10 with their 14th album, 'Songs from the Sparkle Lounge'.

The Top five UK singles are:

1. Madonna feat. Justin Timberlake & Timbaland – '4 Minutes'
2. Sam Sparro – 'Black & Gold'
3. Wiley – 'Wearing My Rolex'
4. Will.I.Am – 'Heartbreaker'
5. Usher feat. Young Jeezy – 'Love In This Club'

Who wrote this? "Techno outfit have scored an unlikely UK number one album, knocking Madonna's 'Hard Candy' from the top." You have to tell us the actual name of the band, or it's a completely pointless article. The key piece of information, the reason we're reading the story, is absent!

The "German techno outfit" are Scooter. Who are about as much of a techno outfit as Usher is an indie band. They are chavved-up blend of euro-disco, hardcore and bad pop. Chavcore anyone?

Scooter: Coming to an Ford Escort stereo near you! Cant wait. Hangings too good for people who bought this crap.
