Kanye West also earns nods

Alicia Keys, Coldplay and The Eagles led the pack of American Music Award nominees, announced today (October 14).

Keys picked up five nominations, while Coldplay and The Eagles scored four apiece. Meanwhile, Kanye West earned two nods, and Foo Fighters, Jay-Z, and the 'Juno' soundtrack featuring Kimya Dawson, Belle & Sebastian and Sonic Youth each earned one.

The 36th annual event is set to take place on November 23 at Los Angeles' Nokia Theatre. Slated to perform at the ceremony are Pink, the Jonas Brothers and newly reunited New Kids On The Block.

Winners will be determined by online voting for the second year in a row. Voting closes November 7.
