NME to give away new Coldplay songs free

Free exclusive vinyl to be given away with magazine

Coldplay will release the first fruits from their forthcoming new album, 'Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends', free with the NME.

A free Coldplay 7-inch vinyl single will be given away with the issue of NME that comes out on May 7. The vinyl will include 'Violet Hill', a song that will appear on the forthcoming LP.

Another song, 'A Spell A Rebel Yell', will feature on the vinyl, and won't be available anywhere else.

To ensure you get your copy of the exclusive Coldplay vinyl you can pre-order your issue from NME.COM at the NME online shop.

The album, the follow-up to 2005's 'X&Y', will be released on June 16.

Funny how so few comments have been posted....is the NME ashamed at its chowing down on corporate cock by any chance?

Coldplay's music is highly irritating - it would be tolerable if the lyrics weren't so stupid and boring.

but surely the nme and nme readers are too 'cool' for coldplay?i'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that this will double, perhaps even triple the weeks sales figures.

Great news, best band in the world today. Although the cool scenesters at NME may disagree, prefering their shite like pigeon detectives singing about"fucking girls and fighting lads". Cant wait to buy this, dont have a record player tho!

when parachutes came out everyone raved about coldplay at it still is a genuinely great album as is rush of blood to the head. X & Y was disappointing - one paced and too generic - trying too hard to sound like U2. However, 2 out of 3 great albums is not a bad start to any bands career. All Coldplay must do now is ensure they dont keep playing it safe just to sell records - they need to do something different with this album to keep it fresh so will be interesting to see what direction the new songs take.

I don't think I'll buy this edition when it comes out as my record player is stuck in my loft and I don't have a ladder to get up there...I've just been to the B & Q depot in Bilston and to purchase a new ladder will cost me in excess of £35

^Finally a Radiohead fan who hasn't compared Coldplay to your precious band. Have you taken your medicine yet?
