The former Libertine's new group are set to play first dates

Carl Barat has revealed the name of his new band.

The group which features Barat along side former Cooper Temple Clause Didz Hammond, Anthony Rossomando - who filled in as guitarist following Pete Doherty's departure from The Libertines – and Libertine drummer Gary Powell will be known as Dirty Pretty Things.

The name is the same as that of Barat’s club night, which has taken place in London at various locations.

Additionally, Dirty Pretty Things announced they are set to mount their first tour together, playing in Italy later this month.

The dates are:

Roma Aube (Oct 10)
Padova DNA Club (11)
Bologna Covo (12)
Ancona Barfly (13)
Rimini Io Street Club (14)
