Big Star singer safe after hurricane

Alex Chilton survives New Orleans storm…

BIG STAR singer ALEX CHILTON has been found safe after getting caught-up in HURRICANE KATRINA.




New Orleans resident’s fate was the source of much internet rumour after the storm struck and he did not immediately get in contact with family, friends or management.




However according to the band’s producer Terry Manning while Chilton’s exact whereabouts aren’t confirmed friends say he is safe and well, Billboard reports.




As previously reported, Big Star plan to release their first album since the 1970s, ’In Space’ on September 26.
