SOUL STARS GIVE THEIR ALL FOR WORLD AIDS DAY

The New York-based event hopes to raise over half a million dollars for local AIDS groups and services...

98 Degrees and Usher are among the stars lined up for the MUSIC WITH A MESSAGE WORLD AIDS DAY 2000' concert to be held in NEW YORK on 21 November.

The event - to be hosted by Pink and Carson Daly - is hoped to top even the success of last year's event, which were almost half a million dollars for local AIDS groups and services, and will also star the likes of Jessica Simpson and the Baha Men.

Tickets for the show, which is held at New York's Beacon Theatre and sponsored by Levi's and the music industry's HIV/AIDS awareness programme LIFEbeat, go on sale tomorrow (October 27), while MTV are already in talks regarding transmission of edited highlights on World Aids Day, December 1.

Last year's event was a huge success, with artists like *N SYNC, Wyclef Jean and Destiny's Child promoting HIV and AIDS awareness.
